Casco

Casco, ME

Casco Village

I love Casco, Maine.

I was born there.

My mom was born there.

My dad was born there. His dad was born there too.

And so on.

That’s how it goes in Casco.

If you’re from there, you’re from there.

Everybody knows everybody in Casco.

Everybody is kind of related or almost related or knows someone who is related in Casco.

Everybody waves in Casco. Everybody says hello.

“The only problem with Casco is that it’s in Casco.”

That’s my favorite saying about Casco.

And I can say that because I’m from there.

3,750 people live here, and we have one stop light.

The lakes and the forests, not the oceans or mountains, define us.

I joke about Casco, like all of us do who are from Casco.

But I do love it here.

I can drive through the village and know who lives in each house and remember who used to.

Everybody knows everybody in Casco.

That’s what I love most about Casco.

Where we are from is always within us.

We all are born into a tribe.

And mine is from Casco.

I really don’t see myself ever leaving it.

Home is home and mine is Casco.

I’m also from planet Earth.

That’s my tribe too!

I love planet Earth!

We are all part of the same tribe if you draw a big enough circle.

Casco is my small circle and planet Earth is my big one!

Let’s draw small and big circles together – on this day and all days!

Love, light, and blessings to you!
